November 27th 2006. I was surprised how much Tom remembered about me and my small (yet important to me) contributions to the show over the years.. right down to recalling that I had long hair (at the time) and meeting me a few times when he was in Toronto to do Mike Bullard. I think some of the reasons for the April 2006 post and my current take on things is the lack of acknowledgement. I thought Tom didnt give a crap about the work I put in doing all those video captures and screen grabs.. hell even J.D. from the Howard Stern show gets props now and then (cue techno music). Did you know that I came up with the idea for the "audience participation track" special feature audio track for the Freddy Got Fingered dvd? They actually went ahead and used that idea and put it into production, but forgot to thank me. But its all good. Tom is still entertaining and I just happened to be at home after work surfing around when I decided to check Tomgreen.com to see what was going on.. and then what happens.. my wife ends up live on the air talking about shit and jogging Tom's memory about past fun. Pretty cool moment, thanks Tom. I got to record the audio too.. bonus.
April 2006. update on this.. from around May of 2006 from none other than DK Harvie who emailed in : "I stumbled into your old TG site. I loved that “final word” goodbye speech you wrote. It had a real closure feel to it.You know, Phil Giroux actually DID move to LA for about 9 months before he quit. He and his gf lived in Tom & Drew’s tiny backyard pool house. He hated it... except for Jamba Juice, a smoothie shop in California. He loved Jamba Juice. Also, I am still married." MTV rewarded Tom and showed their loyalties by hiring Tom Green imitators. Jackass, and later Bam Margera's show being the biggest ones. When Bam wakes his parents up at 3am and harasses them, why arent people saying "I liked that better when Tom Green did it?". Bam has even started doing Right Guard deodorant commercials, something Tom had done years before. Andy Milonakis' show is another one. This show is only funny because Andy is 15. When you realize that Andy is actually in his 30's and has a hormone or gland problem, the show is even less funny. Those are just my thoughts.. Glenn no longer responds to my emails, perhaps in an effort to distance himself from Tom and the show. From the entries on tomgreen.com, it appears the once good friends have had a falling out. Tom on the other hand continues to do segments with Jay Leno. Most recently appearing at the winter games in Italy. I didnt watch. I check out tomgreen.com from time to time and see the "fan" interaction is being limelighted to a new degree. Fans are encouraged to wear t-shirts that say "tomgreen.com" on them, and send in the pictures. I am not sure how many of the early fans are left out there, but they appear to be all taking part in this "tomgreen.com deputy" thing that Tom is promoting. Once all this promoting of tomgreen.com is seen via t-shirts or stickers, new viewers who have seen these advertisements would come to tomgreen.com and find what exactly? reports on people advertising the site? So I guess its the end of an era, actually as you can see from the updates below, the era really ended around 2002. I put too much time into this site to close it down, and honestly there is no information besides my site regarding the "funny" years of the Tom Green show. That magical time between 1994-1999, and later the "crazy insane" years of 2000-2002 where the world outside of Canada learned about the show. I guess you can call me a Dave Allston. Perhaps AJ Allston. I met alot of cool people because of this site, including my now wife. Maybe Tom will read this one day and respond with more than a single sentence email. Enjoy my site.

July 28 2004. Tom is also apparently writing a book about getting cancer and living in Hollywood. Its called Hollywood causes cancer. Tom and Glenn Humplik attended pool parties at the height of their Hollywood Careers with Cameron Diaz and Drew Barrymore. I attended a pool party last month where I pulled a dead body out of a pool. Seems fair.
June 11 2004. Tom Green is going on a blind date...taking the lucky lady, whom he met on the Yahoo personals, to the 2004 Canada's Walk of Fame Gala which he just happens to be hosting this June 23rd. I think it's because there's a free meal for her and it won't be a waste of money if things don't fly well, because with Tom there's definitely a lack of money and a good chance that things won't work out. How many free dinners can one score? How cheap can Tom get? What could the Piano tuner from Ottawa see in Tom? Must be his long long fingers. (A full octave of reach.)

27 2004. I got an official update on the Tom Green show from none other than the former (yes former) announcer of The New Tom Green show.. Mr. Glenn Humplik! I moved back
to Canada last month, had just about Tom is working
on new stuff right now, i'd say expect So there you have it! Hollywood Humplik should now be called Ottawa Humplik.. a name we old fans love and admire him as. I am excited about the Glenn/Phil band. If anyone out there remembers Phil's previous music.. my personal favorite being the song Helicopter.. you know you are in for a treat. I am not sure what pics Glenn is referring for me to check out.. I would check them out if I could. I have discovered a cool website called Archive.org. Basically you can find many websites cached in their servers from years past. I was able to go back to the very early TomGreen.com sites. Many of the images are no longer working, but you get lucky and get a site that has been cached fairly deep. One incarnation of the site even had a working chat room link!. Its worth a look.

11th 2004. What is new with Tom? Well a couple of days ago I read that Tom and Glenn are both in IRAQ until mid January entertaining the troops, way to go guys! Tom is putting his life in danger for comedy. Lauren (my wife to be) and I were watching some old Tom shows.. yes I broke out the classics to show her.. as she had only ever seen the MTV stuff and whatever old clips were on the best of videos that were sold a few years ago in the states.. We laughed.. I also played the first Bullard appearance and we of course enjoyed that.. especially the parts when I was on camera. Played some Rogers stuff and I discovered something strange.. another best of episode on my tape that I didnt have catalogued. This is intriguing. When I get more time I will have to go through it.. I havent sold any copies to people. Ive had a few offers of 20$ for the set or even 40$.. A dude emailed me telling me he bought 3 vcd episodes from Rogers for almost 50$ US... crazy! I wish Tom or Glenn would email me back.. Look at all the effort Ive put into this site.. its the last Tom Green site on the internet.. even Glenn's tomgreen.com is dead. This is a dark time. Lauren

she looked like his former wife Drew Barrymore. Tom never replied. I was
torn.. I was upset with her, but then I thought it was hilarious. She

23rd 2003. AXED!: It's not easy being Tom Green today. MTV has abruptly pulled the plug on The New Tom Green Show — just weeks after the music channel renewed the latenight talker for an additional 65 episodes. "Despite critical acclaim, [the show] was unfortunately unable to sustain the initial ratings success it enjoyed in its earlier weeks," an MTV spokeswoman tells TV Guide Online. "Tom remains a part of the MTV family, and we look forward to working with him in the future." MTV shouldn't hold its breath: Sources say Green is already shopping the show elsewhere. The show went off the air a few weeks back now, and was said to be returning on the 22nd. Tom had been happy that the show was renewed, and well I guess Mtv fucked him. You wouldnt renew and then cancel.. it doesnt make sense, unless it was some sorta contract trick. What did TV's Glenn Humplik have to say about the show/his job being cancelled. >

Scott! I think the time crunch to get the show ready every night took away from Tom being allowed to go out and film street segments. I wasnt too into the writers either.. I think they had all worked at the Jay Leno show recently. Jay Leno style of monolouge: "Sony Playstation 2, coming out with an Experience Britney Spears video game. Very realistic. In fact, the chips are made from the very same silicone as Britney" This is not funny. Maybe if you are a 40 year old stay at home mother. Fire the writers. Bring back Derek Harvie. Tom and Derek made the show work. One show a week in the same format but packed with funny would be good. Of course who am I? Just a long time fan.. I seem to be the only long time fan that still gives a shit.. that runs a website anyway. I am not a comedian, and at the moment I dont even have a job! But I was a viewer.. albeit an illegal one from Canada (and thats another thing, alot of fans couldnt even see the show.. not counting the Comedy Networks pathetic one hour best of..) As a viewer I watched, and sometimes had to change the channel. Jason Statham was on the show.. hes a cool guy. Up and coming movie star. Lots of great movies. Hes put on in the last 5 mins of the show.. After a wrestler and a porn star. What the hell?. Anyway, bottom line was it was still a hell of alot better than most talk shows.. Music Television would rather air non Music for that hour.. or retard fake teenagers living in a house complaining about who ate the last microwave pizza.

25 2003. (updated 26th!) Anyway! What is it like? Different.. the good: Funny segments, Glenn Humplik, enthusiastic crowd, longer to mess around with stuff. Humplik getting to announce.. strange, but Glenn has a job again! The segments are really funny thus far. The fact that all the guests hang out after their segment is done. Suprise appearances by Andy Dick. Snide remarks about Drew. Testicle Humor. The fact that Derek "Sex Offender" Harvie is still involved. Tom calling Glenn his best friend. The bad (and by bad I mean things that can be fixed!): The set.. not digging it. From Rogers 22, to comedy network season1 and 2, to MTV.. I just dont see this one. It looks like the set Kramer found in the garbage from the old Merv Griffen show. The desk is cool, and the lil chair that Seth Green sat in was fun.. and I liked tonights episode where Glenn was demoted to sitting on a lawn chair when all the guests were out. The guy playing piano is weak.. It fees like "whos line is it anyway".. the local bands playing like Rogers and Comedy Network season 1 was a good idea.. cheap entertainment.. plus fun!. Phil Giroux missing.. well what can be said about Phil, we miss him in the window. The person responsible for mic'ing the audience.. and or the person responsible for escorting audience members who wont shut the fuck up... I mean I know its a "party" but come on, Tom is trying to do some jokes.. we cant hear. Tom: "I had some ice cream" Audience dink: "YAHH ICE CREAM!!". Ok shut up. MTV commercials are really brutal. My VCR goes off pause, We arent even getting a standard 45mins of content. Time slot. Good for the summer.. but we must give up the end of letterman.. the start of conan or kilborn.. hmm.. (notice I didnt mention Jay Leno.). MTV commercials are just brutal to sit through as well. The opening credits are weak as well.. but I like the in between commercial break bumpers.. what about an opening involving that kinda stuff? An opening showing Tom sleeping.. waking up.. getting in the shower.. buttering toast.. eating the toast.. then going back to the shower, and then back to bed.. would be more exciting then what they are using now. And I dont want to come off like a Dave Allston.. Just offering my opinion.. I think its got what it takes to become another great era in the Tom universe.. I think Glenn should have let me take over running at least part of the official Tom site, and pass me some little MTV money's.. I could do a good job, I mean who else is left in the fan department from the old days? So thats the scoop! I hadnt seen the Andy Dick as Tom and Tom as Andy Dick segment before.. that looked hilarious.

10 2003. Mtv has been showing stuff hyping the new Charlies Angels: Full Throttle movie.. and to my suprise the intervewier had the balls to ask Drew about the Chad.. Drew smiled.. and looks like she lost her composure.. all she could say was The Chad.. The Chad was great. Thanks Tom Quait for sending me the Tom info.. and although I am a Gentleman of Leisure, I dont seem to have as much time as I once did to make this site as nuclear as it once was. 5th 2003. I guess the big news is that Tom is coming back to MTV to do a nightly talk show! I had heard of this from Glenn back in December.. but was sword to secrecey.. which sucks because I couldve broken the news to all the tom fans.. but then wouldve missed out on future secrets since I have a big mouth. Glenn finally broke the news.. sorta on March 5th.. with this article. Of course, Tom also has become a profesional skateboarder! signing to his buddy Tony Hawk's Birdhouse team. Tom also has his own line of skateboards and decks!! Dont believe me? Check them out! The images were 'copyrighted'.. complete with watermarks and "right click disabled". The show is about teenaged clones of historical figures that go to high school together, and in this particular episode Gandhi is diagnosed with ADD, causing his fellow students to ostracize him for fear that he's contagious and "you can get it from toilet seats." Abe Lincoln, Gandhi's best friend, seeks advice from Tom, who sets the record straight, claims to be an albatross, improvises a short song, then jumps out a window. Specifs are not available, but that gives the few loyal fans who are left something to look forward to. And if you have a few friends that are saying "Tom Green sucks" or "Tom Green is so over" kindly tell them to "FUCK OFF YOU FUCK".. nicely. Dont say it mean. Because you still want them to be friends... you just want to remind them that their opinions on this matter dont count, and that they suck. I may not update my site as much as I used to, but I am still a Pineapple Pal of Tom's.
