We found a few extra songs that we recorded in 1996 when we did the "godzilla" session.

"urethane / jailbreak / grendel, snowman". We've got to get these tapes "baked" and restorded, and then we will mix these extra songs. Neither Brad or I can remember recording these. We never mixed them. We might have to add them onto the "godzilla's / eatin dust" re-release.

all the vinyl of "in search of..." is sold out for mail orders. we will have them for sale at the shows in europe. we only have 200 left so once they are gone in europe, they are gone. we might do another pressing when we get back from tour, but not quite sure at the moment.
if you ordered a copy of the vinyl, they are being sent out now.
all the shirts are sold out as well.

Southern California's heavy fuzz rock legends FU MANCHU will release their eleventh full-length album, "Signs of Infinite Power", on October 20, 2009 via Century Media Records.

Recorded at Maple Studios in Santa Ana, California by the band and producer Sergio Chavez (MOTÖRHEAD, HELMET) and mixed by Andrew Alekel (FOO FIGHTERS , DANZIG), "Signs of Infinite Power" could well be dubbed "a reawakening" of FU MANCHU as the record delivers monstrous doses of the group's punk energy, hard rock drive and psychedelic crunch in spades. From the instant the album's lead track "Bionic Astronautics" soars from the speakers, it is undeniably evident that FU MANCHU is as primed and hungry as ever before. The record holds the sound of a band rocking purely for the sheer joy of rocking; amps cranked to 11 and revved to maximum overdrive.

In celebration of its 20th anniversary, FU MANCHU has a number of very special events planned for 2010. Additionally, the VIRULENCE (pre-FU MANCHU) recordings will be remastered and packaged with the band's "1985-87 demos" and both live songs and video footage from 1987-89 under the title "If This Isn't A Dream…1985-1989". Originally formed in 1985 as a BLACK FLAG-influenced hardcore punk band called VIRULENCE, FU MANCHU has since become one of hard rock's most celebrated names. The band released its first single "Kept Between Trees" in 1990 and in the years following, helped give rise to a celebrated style of heavy music tagged "stoner rock" alongside peers such as KYUSS, MONSTER MAGNET and SLEEP. Since its inception, the quartet has built itself a fanatical army of loyal enthusiasts all drawn to the group's ridiculously catchy, unpretentious music, guitar-driven sound and carefree lyrics centered on "old muscle cars, choppers, vans, skateboarding and science fiction."

Just sending an note out to let everyone know we're doing a charity ebay auction to help our friend Dylan Roche. He used to tour manage us back in the day and plays bass in Brant Bjork and the Bros. He recently underwent surgery to remove a brain tumor and we are trying to help out with his medical bills.

(he also was featured in the Fu Manchu "Asphalt Risin'" video.. playing the Searcher.

2009 update from Scott!

"First off, we are playing a show at the Detroit Bar in Costa Mesa, Ca on Sat Feb 21.

We are writing the new record now. We have about 10 new songs. We hope to write another 5 or 6 before we hit the studio in april / may. The new record should be out sept / oct 2009 through century media records. So far its turing out very fuzzy and heavy!!! a few faster, tweaked songs will be in there as well. We will also be doing a few cover songs if we have the extra time in the studio. We will probablly release a 2 song 7" on our own at the dojo records sometime before or after the full length comes out. The 7" will be a limited pressing of 900 like the last one we released with the VOID cover song.

2010 will be Fu Manchu's 20th year of being a band. We have some very limited re-issues planned and selected shows where we will be playing certain records straight through. A dvd is also planned wih stuff from waaaaay back up until now. Live shows and videos. We are hoping to put all the videos that weve done on there as well. Some never before seen.
