Dini Petty
first appearance March 1998

Tom's second appearance on national Canadian television. Dini Petty is (was) the host of a day time talk show here in Canada. The guests are usually old people heartthrob's (like Julio Eglasias or however you spell it), famous chefs, famous writers that write books you would never read, and finally stars of CTV broadcasting shows... ie: The Tom Green shows, Tom Green. Tom was pretty excited to be on Dini Petty, most likely because he had grown up watching her on television. At one point he picked Dini, and started singing "Ive got the whole Dini.. in my hands.. " twas pretty funny. That month on the tomgreen.com website, Tom's press trip to Toronto was talked about in great detail. A field trip was even organized where Tom took a bunch of the fans that came out to the Dini taping.. to a movie. I didnt attend this thing, because if my memory is correct.. I had "un-skipable" school that day. The people that did show up to the Dini taping did in fact go to see a movie with Tom. Some fans even brought him a box of donuts (that Tom had requested on the website). If you check back in Tom's Diary Archive, you can read about this taping and the movie outing after party.

Dini Petty
second appearance November 1998

This show marked Tom's second appearance on the Dini Petty show.. and as you can see between the first time he visited, and this time, Dini's set had changed.. Tom's hair had grown in more, and Tom had become more confident. Less fans knew of this appearance, and as a result it wasnt "so crazy". It was just a nice, pleasant, sit down talk. Tom and Dini discussed the upcoming Tom Green Show 2nd season, and the Cross Canada segment filming trip that Tom had just recently returned home from taking. Tom spoke of finding dead animals on the side of the road.. like the infamous moose, and a indigenous hawk (a very big dead hawk).

Tom asked if he could eat some of the display fruit on Dini's table. She said ok, but that he might die.. since it was sprayed with something. As I remember Tom and Dini were to have an
apple eating contest.. Dini asked a fan in the audience to face off against Tom... but Tom won. This show appearance marked the last time you could see Tom with Dini Petty; as she is no longer making her talk show. Not unlike most talk shows, the Dini Petty show featured head shots of audience members in the crowd watching with heightened interest and enthusiasm as the guest and Dini talk about something.. well lookie lookie who got a head shot, its television's own: DEREK HARVIE!

The Camilla Scott show
first (and only) appearance for either Tom or his parents on Camilla. April 1998

The Camilla Scott show was Canada's poor answer to the Jerry Springer, and Ricki Lake shows. Camilla (see above far right ) had insanely stupid show topics weekly.. like "Help, I have a ear hair problem, and I want you to be my chauffeur" or something to that effect. If you have the time, you should check out the webpage I dedicated to when I attended Camilla Scott taping, that was themed "So, are we going out are what?" Its too funny. Well the show Tom appeared on was "You have bad taste". The first guests were Tom's parents. They had been flown down from Ottawa to Toronto just to do the show, and this marked the first occasion that his parents would be given the spotlight they so richly deserved. Tom came out soon after. Again this taping had been advertised on the website, and was completely sold out. People had lined up for tickets, begged to get in.. and at the request of Tom, had "razzed" their way in. Meaning they lied, cheated, or just plain ran past security to get into the taping. It was pretty crazy. I didnt attend it.

Camilla Scott, the dumbass that she is , introduced Tom as "Tom Wood" (She has cue cards, and she still messed up.) She was later canceled that year, and is currently starring in a play called " the pajama party" with the gay guy from TVOntario's "Todays Special".. hooray!. Back to the synopsis. Tom went on about how it was insane that the Camilla people had flown he and his parents down to be on the show. They showed clips of Tom painting the house plaid, and talked about what a bad seed Tom is. The rest of the show, other guests were introduced.. Tom made sarcastic comments and gyrated in his chair a few times. An audience member asked "what was a prank that was pulled on you" to Tom, and Tom answered that when he was younger he would take 4 min showers (his parents said more like hour long showers), and in order to get him out quicker.. his parents turned the taps on and flushed the toilets in an attempt to scold their future star son.

Here is a crowd shot. Tom 3:16. Dude this isnt wrestling. Most people who make those signs dont even know what it means in relation to the bible. The other picture took place as the credits rolled. Camilla was probably apologizing for being an air head. But as Tom looked at it, it was a free trip to Toronto.. all expenses paid.

Off the Record
second appearance November 1998

Tom while in Toronto for the Dini show did a show called "Off the Record" which is basically a 30 min roundtable discussion about sports. The first time Tom appeared they talked about Sports. The second time Tom was on the show they also talked about Sports. Only this time, Tom had brought his magical suitcase of love with him. Inside the producers of "OTR" feared was another dead raccoon. Tom had come from the Bullard show the night before to do this show, and word of mouth had spread on his horrific stunt. Nothing bad was inside. The show is pretty dull usually.. unless Sable is on, which is always fun.

Jonovision
first appearance. December 1998

Jonovision is a show here in Canada aimed at the afterschool crowd. It airs at 5pm, and covers various teen related topics. Since im immature, and home, I am a big fan of Jonovision. What most of you people dont know, is that Tom Green, and Jonathan Torrens are friends, and have been friends for some time. Jono used to be a part of another Canadian television series called "Street Cents" which dealt with consumer awareness amongst young consumers.. but also had a comedic aspect to the show as well. Tom used to be a writer on street cents to make some extra cash.. and can be seen in old Rogers22 episodes running around with a Street Cents T-shirt. OK BACK ON TRACK. The topic was something about "meeting your idols" or something. I knew a kid that loved Tom Green, and applied to meet him.. but when he saw the moose humping segment, he got all turned off and renounced his love for Tom (what a loser).

The kid that did get to meet his idol Tom, said he wanted to grow up to be Tom.. but the kid was too nervous and timid to be Tom. Maybe he (like most of us) admires Tom for the things we would never do in real life. Tom gave him pointers on how to spray bags of milk at people.. he suggested a small hole for good sprayage. Later he told the kid it would be fun if they both jumped into a pool full of honey. They did.. Tom asked Jono what Bee's make.. HONEY..

There is Jono in the middle.. and HOLY CRAP! Look who is behind him.. ITS DEREK HARVIE! (its fun to spot Derek when Tom makes appearances.. its like spotting waldo.. except Derek wears nicer sweaters. After the honey, Tom suggested the two jump into a pool filled with popcorn. Tom humped the kid in the vat of popcorn and mixed in honey.. they then got up and ran into the audience. They hugged and got more milk to spray on the kids, finally Tom ran up and gave his old pal Jono a big bear hug. And what do Bee's make once again? HONEY!
